That's twenty years of world premieres (While My Mother Lay Dreaming, Dreamland Saturday Nights, The Liars), Canadian premieres of outstanding international plays (Underneath the Lintel, Honour, The Pavilion) and productions of some of the finest Canadian theatre available (Sexy Laundry, The Glace Bay Miners Museum, Speak), all in the hope of keeping you entertained and inspired.

Since this is our 20th anniversary season, we wanted to pay tribute to our past while celebrating the future and honouring those artists who have given so much of their talents to Shadow Theatre.
The very first Shadow Theatre production was Fool for Love by Sam Shepard at the 1989 Fringe Festival (our first 3 show season was in 1991/92). The show was a big hit at the festival and launched us as a notable producing entity. It seemed only fitting that we return to it in our anniversary season. Of course we had to include a play by David Belke, a man whose talents have been one of Shadow Theatre's trademarks.
We also found a fabulous play (The Country) for Wayne Paquette to direct while showcasing the incomparable talents of John Sproule and Coralie Cairns.
And finally, since we believe the future of Shadow Theatre includes the ongoing development of new Canadian plays, we selected one of the great new plays from our development program tto be represented in this season. Little Elephants by Belinda Cornish was the obvious choice. It is a wonderful heartfelt comedy ripe for production.
We are thrilled with this season and hope you will be too.
