Shadow Theatre is proud of our commitment to new play development. Our primary focus with this program is to work with emerging playwrights who have not yet been produced by a PACT (Professional Association of Canadian Theatre’s) company as it serves both our passions and our mandate. At the same time, we continue moving our playwright-in- residence in challenging new directions.

We are always actively engaged in looking for playwrights whose skills and philosophies are a good match for the company, and we are passionate about contributing in a significant way to the Canadian canon of plays. Our program differs from others in our community as we actively seek out up and coming writers with passion and a great idea.
