 The Roommate

by Jen Silverman

October 23 to November 10, 2019

Sharon is a recent divorcee in her mid-fifties, and needs a roommate to share her unassuming Iowa home. Robyn, also in her fifties, needs a place to hide and a chance to start over. But as she uncovers Robyn’s secrets, Sharon discovers in herself a deep seated desire to transform her own life. A dark comedy about what it takes to re‑route your life – and what happens when the wheels come off.

The Odd Couple meets Breaking Bad

“ The Roommate tugs at the heartstrings as much as it tickles the funny bone.” –

Happy Birthday Baby J

On a sunny summer weekend, Gary and Louise invite friends and family to celebrate the second birthday of their child J, who they are raising without a gender. As the day awkwardly unfolds, grudges are revealed and secrets bubble uproariously to a head. Nick Green’s staggering new comedy skewers the excesses of the politically correct and the possible future we are setting up for our children.

A startling new comedy from one of Canada’s most exciting young playwrights

MARCH 11 TO 29, 2020

Amidst the bustle of a crowded London train station, 40-ish Georgie spots Alex, a much older man, and plants a kiss on his neck. This electric encounter thrusts these two strangers into a fascinating and life‑changing game. Peeling away the many layers of everyday relationships with subtle humour and quiet poeticism, Heisenberg, brings to poignant theatrical life the uncertain and comical sparring match that is human connection.

The Wrong People Have Money

APRIL 29 TO MAY 17, 2020

Popular York University professor Martin Delancey is challenged to conduct a study into the feasibility of a “ridiculous” suggestion he raises in his classroom: Is it possible to move the country of Greenland, in its entirety, south in the Atlantic, thereby bringing the planet a newly habitable land mass? In their unusual pursuit, Delancey and his team encounter a myriad of obstacles, and yet also an increasingly excited worldwide interest. Which may just turn a wild idea into a major business opportunity.

The Wrong People Have Money is the funniest play ever written about moving Greenland!
